Avoxi Review
Avoxi has been around since 2001, although they—like many VoIP companies—have struggled to break through to the greater masses. The main reason seems to be because Avoxi has yet to focus on a specific corner of the market, instead of trying to cast a wide net.
Firstly, Avoxi advertises virtual numbers from over 160 countries worldwide, but their calling rates are far from the cheaper VoIP options out there. Secondly, the Avoxi website is confusing because they offer so many products—they have virtual phone numbers, cloud contact center software, AND “solutions” based on your business size. Is there any overlap between these products? Who knows. Since VoIP is notoriously a complicated industry for incoming customers, but Avoxi’s site must make most people’s heads spin.
Capabilities Comparison: MightyCall vs Avoxi
MightyCall
Avoxi
Why is MightyCall the best alternative to Avoxi?
Avoxi does have a nice collection of features (although call recording is extra and there’s nothing anywhere about any spam deterring/blocking features), but the overall package is lackluster. MightyCall’s plans are $15 and $20 per user a month, respectively, and match nearly every single feature Avoxi has, but with more overall system versatility and usability.
Avoxi has unclear pricing as well, with many of the features that would make the system work very well seemingly not included on the payment plans, but only available as extras.
Add-On Craziness
This coincides with Avoxi’s pricing structure not being very clear (they have a plan geared towards individuals set at $0 a month but that requires add-ons). They use a per-user structure, with the main plan being $20 per user. This isn’t terrible, but it’s the same as MightyCall’s $20 per user price tag that includes more features.
Many of the best features from VoIP are add-ons, meaning that Avoxi users will end up paying a ton to harness the true power of the system. MightyCall tries to avoid add-ons, including all the features we’ve engineered in our plans.
Is it VoIP?
Avoxi has VoIP features, but they also prominently display lots of unrelated information about compliance and office setups on their website. With the company offering multiple different products that aren’t VoIP, it is confusing to stumble onto their site and not end up on the phone with a sales rep trying to get you to buy add-ons.

charge per user. You can also send text messages easily. The software is relatively easy to use. You can
use the mobile app or browser app simultaneously. Call routing works well. Support is quick to respond.

immediately! When the phone rings it can go to multiple employees at the same time as well. Love it!

feature bloated, difficult to use and clunky to configure. We have been impressed with how much easier
MightyCall was to use across all these areas. It’s a good fit for us, and we saved a bundle. Review
collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Service is always great and the telephony itself is amazing. compared with bigger more ‘sophisticated’ systems such as Fonality, I would choose Mightycall tenfold.

favorite feature is the Call Flow design tool. Very intuitive and easy to organize.
Conclusion
No matter what size your small business is and what kind of features/usage you need, with MightyCall you get what you need while paying substantially less. If you want VoIP, Avoxi isn’t near the top of the list of best options, precisely because it hasn’t picked a niche and doesn’t support a friendly payment structure, as add-ons are not very customer-friendly.
